A group of us enjoy spending an occasional weekend out on the target range. We have all of the really cool airsoft gun that makes our excursions fun and exciting. Each time we get to the range we all have to pull out what we have added to our inventory since our last adventure. One piece of equipment that everyone has is a rifle scope. The only difference is they are all different. We all think we have the best one but in fact they all do their job. We are pretty good with our targets. We have hard to hit angled targets and moving targets that challenge the skill of everyone. We are all so excited when we hit the targets. Of course once we have hit the targets they must be changed because they need an upgrade to make them more complicated. Since we have started practicing our rifle skills have definitely improved. There is a lot of skill when it come to rifle shooting. The last time we went to the range we stayed until after dark so we could use our mounted flashlights. That certainly added another element to it. We will need more practice using our mounted flashlights but that is what makes target practice fun. We got a lot of laughs out of watching the seasoned shooters and the targets they missed. It is all in good fun but you can bet everyone is practicing in the dark for our next trip!

For several years I taught a class for personal defense. Although I had many men in my classes it was mostly women. This job I took very seriously because I knew the information I gave these people could potentially save their lives. There are many things you can do to improve your odds of coming out of an altercation unharmed. There are stun guns for women which can be used to slow down your assailant long enough for you to get away. Some stun guns come with a holster so you can have it handy and also an alarm. I like the idea of having an alarm on a stun gun. The one things we know that works best is drawing attention. When the alarms goes off attackers will usually leave because of the fear of the attention will bring help and they will be caught. No longer is it one on one but now there is a potential for help for the victim coming. We always talk about yelling when you are being attacked just imagine how much louder an alarm would be.
