You do not have to look very hard to see that people are in a financial crisis. You hear every day about people loosing their homes to foreclosures. The President passed a stimulus package that is designed to help more people hold onto their homes. You have to have secured your home loan before Jan.1, 2009 to qualify. There are other requirements as well. You do not have to be behind on your payments to qualify. Many people are choosing to do a Home Loan Modification because that translates to lower payments. The Fair Home Loan Bureau was created as a free service to help those that qualify to understand the requirements of the stimulus package and to help them as they navigate through a Loan Modification. The results of this program is more people are able to reduce their payments therefore holding onto their homes and avoiding foreclosures. When a foreclosure takes place no one wins.
